Deputy Chief Alider Pratts

Deputy Chief Alider Pratts is a driving force behind operational excellence in North Hudson Regional Fire & Rescue, serving as a Tour Commander responsible for daily fire operations and the performance of an entire shift of firefighters and fire officers. A leader known for precision and high standards, he also spearheads the department’s Special Operations training, preparedness, and response, shaping the capabilities of one of the region’s most active urban fire agencies.

Chief Pratts plays a critical role on multiple interagency committees, contributing to county active‑shooter preparedness, regional emergency planning, and NY/NJ Maritime Security initiatives. As a State‑certified Fire Instructor, he has built a reputation for developing disciplined, high‑performing firefighters and future officers.

As a managing partner with Promotional Prep, Chief Pratts brings his operational experience, instructional expertise, and leadership philosophy to the next generation of fire service leaders — helping firefighters master the job, advance the rank, and lead with purpose.

Chief Frank Montagne, Ret.

Chief Frank Montagne brings over 35 years of dedicated fire service leadership, culminating in his tenure as Chief of Department for North Hudson Regional Fire & Rescue, one of the most densely populated and operationally demanding jurisdictions in the country. Serving North Hudson for two decades — 10 years as Deputy Chief and 10 years as Chief — he led a regionalized department spanning five municipalities with unmatched operational tempo and complexity.

Chief Montagne began his career with the North Bergen Fire Department prior to regionalization in 1999. Promoted to Captain in just four years, he spent a decade assigned to Ladder 1 before rising to Battalion Chief. Known for his relentless preparation and mastery of the craft, Chief Montagne achieved #1 on every promotional exam he ever took, setting a standard for excellence that defined his career.

As a co‑founder of Promotional Prep, he now applies his operational experience and command‑level insight to help firefighters excel in promotional testing, advance their careers, and lead with confidence. His legacy is built on performance, preparation, and the uncompromising pursuit of excellence.
